Algeria and Iran ink several cooperation programmes and MOUs
ALGIERS, 17 Dec: Five executive cooperation programmes and three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) have been signed, in Algiers on Thursday, at the end of the works of the Algerian-Iranian High Joint Commission, co-chaired by Prime Minister Abelmalek Sellal and Iran Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri.
The executive cooperation programmes concern the fields of youth and sports for 2016-2017, vocational training and education (2016-2017), culture (2016-2018) period, public works (2016-2017), as well as higher education and scientific research (2016-2018).
The government of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in higher education and scientific research.
Five executive programmes and MoU in higher education and scientific research were inked by Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel and Iranian Minister of Roads and City Urban Development
Abass Akhoundi, in presence of Sellal and Jahangiri.
The MoU on judicial cooperation between the two countries was signed by Minister of Justice Tayeb Louh and his Iranian counterpart Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi.
Another MoU was signed between the Institute of International Diplomatic Relation (IDRI), coming under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Iranian Faculty School of International Relations of Iran's Foreign Ministry.
The document was inked by IDRI Director General Amina Mesdoua and his Iranian counterpart Mohamed Hassen Sheikh Al Islami.
