Bilateral Ties Discussed With Algeria

Iranian Foreign Minister, Mr. Ali Akbar Salehi, expressed his satisfaction with the current level of amicable ties between Iran and Algeria.
In a meeting with Chairman of the Commission of the Foreign Affairs of the Council of Nation, Mr. Brahim Boulahia, on Monday 31 December 2012, Mr. Salehi hoped that the two countries would witness expansion of cooperation, especially in the area of economy and trade in the near future.
Mr. Salehi highlighted the existence of numerous commonalities between the two nations, saying that all existing opportunities should be fully utilized to expand mutual relations.
Referring to the key role of Tehran and Algiers in the regions, the Iranian Foreign Minister appreciated Algeria’s support to Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
He also pointed to the achievements of Iran in scientific fields and expressed Tehran’s readiness to share experience with Algiers in these fields.
Mr. Boulahia, for his part, expressed pleasure over his visit to Iran and meetings with Iranian officials and described the bilateral ties positive.
The senior parliamentarian added that the Algerian nation and government seek expanded political, economic and cultural ties with Iran.
